Angist
Angist is a death metal band from Reykjavík, Iceland, formed in 2009 by guitarist Gyða Hrund Þorvaldsdóttir and vocalist/guitarist Edda Tegeder Óskarsdóttir. The lineup was solidified with the addition of Edda’s brother, Haraldur Ingi Shoshan, on bass, and drummer Tumi Snær Gíslason. Their music is characterized by a blend of old-school death metal infused with elements of doom and black metal, creating a dark and atmospheric soundscape. In 2011, Angist released their debut EP, Circle of Suffering, which garnered critical acclaim for its intense compositions and Edda’s powerful vocals.
